Moving Forward With Intention

Moving Forward With Intention

The start of a new year often arrives with pressure - to overhaul, to reinvent, to declare something bold and brand new. But what energizes me most right now isn’t reinvention. It’s intention.

Choosing what to carry forward.
Refining what already works.
Moving ahead with clarity, curiosity, and care.

Over the past year, my own work has taken a meaningful turn. I moved from selling one-of-a-kind antiques to creating vintage inspired gift wrap and postcards, drawn from the same delightful images that have inspired me for years. While the products changed, the point of view did not.

I am still drawn to objects with history and patina.
I still believe beauty belongs in everyday moments.
I still care deeply about how things are chosen, made, and shared.

Dear Ones - are any of you beginning 2026 with a similar feeling? Perhaps you are starting something new, refining an idea, or giving more attention to what already feels true. Growth doesn’t always arrive with drama. More often, it looks like focus - a steadier sense of direction and a clearer understanding of what matters most.

That belief is woven into every piece of vintage inspired stationery I create. These paper goods are meant for real life: notes sent ‘just because,' gifts wrapped with joy, postcards saved simply because they pleased you.

As this year unfolds, my hope is that my papers offer you quiet encouragement - to move forward thoughtfully, to honor what you love, and to carry it with you into whatever comes next.

About the author: Heather Caldwell is the founder of Caldwell's Miscellaneous Fancy Goods. A Dartmouth English major, she spent years as a librarian and book conservator at MIT and Harvard -  work that deepened a lifelong devotion to paper, books, and the objects that carry meaning. She founded Caldwell's to put those years of knowledge in service of women who love beautiful things: the readers, the collectors, the women with a Jane Austen state of mind.
